Worship Services – Detailed

8:00 AM and 11:00 AM Services

These services are held in our Sanctuary just off the Lake Murray Boulevard parking lot. They follow a more traditional liturgical format.  Participants stand up (as they are able) and sit down at different points. We use a variety of settings including those from the Evangelical Lutheran Worship book, Chicago Folk Service, and a modified Taize service.  Communion is celebrated at every service every week.  Our communion table is open and all are invited to come forward and receive.  Those unable to come forward (for whatever reason) can have communion brought to their seats.  Please let one of the ushers know if you need communion brought to you.

 9:30 AM Service

This service is held in our Community Center, and is structured differently from a “traditional” worship setting.  The congregations remains seated throughout the service, except to come forward for communion. Our communion table is open and all are invited to come forward and receive.  Those unable to come forward (for whatever reason) can have communion brought to their seats.  Please let one of the ushers know if you need communion brought to you.  A children’s sermon takes place early in the service, followed immediately by communion.  Children attend Sunday School immediately following communion.  The service continues with Bible reading, sermon, and prayers.
