WORSHIP SETTINGS AND SPECIAL SERVICES

All of our weekend services include Holy Communion every week. Our 8:00 and 11:00 services are usually more traditional liturgical services. A variety of settings from the ELCA’s worship book (Evangelical Lutheran worship, or ELW) are used throughout the year. Our 5:00 and 9:30 services each follow the same format from week to week, with different music at each service. We also use the following liturgical settings and services at various times throughout the months and year:

Gospel Service

St. Andrew’s Music Director Scott Skinner wrote most of the liturgical music for this service, which is used once a month at 8:00 and 11:00.  This service follows the traditional Lutheran worship setting (including Holy Communion) and features gospel hymns.

Taizé Worship:

Taize worship is once a month at the 11:00 service. This a meditative worship setting making use of repetitive sequences of simple musical phrases and core Biblical texts. Information about Taizé worship can be found here (http://www.elca.org/Growing-In-Faith/Worship/Learning-Center/FAQs/Taize-Worship.aspx). Information about the Taizé community and their work can be found on the Taizé Web site(http://www.taize.fr).
